Global markets face rising demand for robust ESG compliance, particularly on the environmental pillar, and alignment with international disclosure frameworks such as the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). Hong Kong’s newly published Nature-based Solutions (NbS) Design Guidelines (by CEDD & AFCD) further signal the city’s intent to embed ecological uplift into infrastructure planning. To translate that policy direction into practical action, Napital— as the index proponent, in collaboration with AECOM, the technical lead — introduce the NCI through the Natural Capital Initiative as a tool to measure and finance nature-positive outcomes. The NCI is designed to unlock green finance opportunities, while being compatible with emerging ESG disclosure needs, particularly TNFD guidance and regulatory requirements.
As an independent third-party verifier, CMA Testing were engaged to carry out the Verification Work of the NCI. Our work included reviews of calculations and datasets, trace back of selected reported values to raw data, recalculation of indicators, dashboard consistency checks, and validation of the underlying methodology, literature, software, instruments, and expert inputs. For many years, CMA Testing has been committed to advancing local sustainable development. Through this engagement, we are willing to work alongside market partners to support the ongoing progress of ESG and TNFD practices—especially those related to nature and natural assets—in a prudent, credible, and steadily evolving way.
📌 CMA Testing offers comprehensive ESG consulting and reporting services.
