It simulates the continuous release of harmful substances into the air over a 28‑day period after the product is applied, measuring concentrations of TVOC (Total Volatile Organic Compounds), formaldehyde, toluene, and various other harmful substances. Based on the test results, products are assigned an environmental rating. The French VOC label is divided into four levels: A+, A, B, and C, with A+ being the highest, indicating that the product offers superior environmental quality.
Scope of application for the French A+ label: paints, pigments, latex paints, wallpapers, flooring, doors and windows, glues, and other indoor furniture and building materials.
