To further ensure product safety and compliance, Amazon recently launched the DV “Direct Verification” mechanism:
- For specific product categories, compliance testing/certification must be conducted directly through an Amazon-approved TIC (such as CMA Testing) organization, or existing test reports, compliance materials, and products must be provided and verified according to TIC requirements.
- Test and verification results are submitted directly to Amazon by the TIC organization.
- Sellers cannot upload compliance documents themselves.
Scope of application
- Applicable Sites: Currently primarily implemented on the US and UK marketplaces, with future expansion to new sites. Please stay tuned to the relevant help pages.
- Product Categories Involved: Children’s toys, electric transportation equipment, dietary supplements, ophthalmic medications, skin whitening products, and other specific categories (may be expanded later).
Impact on sellers
- If the test results confirm that your product complies with Amazon’s policies: your product will be eligible to sell on Amazon’s US marketplace, and no further action is required.
- If you are unable to initiate or complete the testing or verification, or if the test results show that your product does not comply with Amazon’s policies: the product information may be removed.
- Note: This compliance process primarily affects currently available products. Please refer to the expiration date on the Manage Your Compliance page for the specific grace period.
New compliance process
➤ For the products currently being sold:
- Sellers submit a testing request on the “Manage Your Compliance (MYC)” page.
- After receiving the request, the designated TIC (Testing and Certification Authority) will contact the seller to arrange testing or verification of their existing reports and products.
- Once the testing/verification is completed, the TIC will submit the results directly to Amazon; sellers cannot upload documents themselves.
- All testing/verification costs are borne by the seller.
➤ For products that are not yet available for sale:
Sellers can use help pages or compliance reference tools to find out whether their products need to complete compliance through designated TIC bodies.
