ARE YOU SWITCHED ON YET? Special Offer for Luminaires to UK market under New ErP Directive

In late 2019, the European Commission issued new ErP directives EU 2019/2020 which specifies the ecological design requirements for light sources and separate control gear in containing products (e.g. luminaire) sold on the market. This new directive will be enforced from 1 Sep, 2021.

This new requirement will not automatically apply in Great Britain. However, this measure carries significant benefits in relation to realising the Government’s Carbon Budget and Net Zero targets, a separate Great Britain legislation is required.

The draft regulation would apply from 1 September 2021. A manufacturer must not place on the GB market or put into service a lighting product from this date unless that product complies with the draft regulations and bears the UKCA marking. However, to allow businesses time to adjust to new UKCA marking requirements, the CE mark can still be used until 1 January 2022.

Concerning the direct costs to manufacturers selling within the UK, CMA Testing would love to support your product meeting the requirements of ErP requirement (ErP test under (EC)2019/2020) by providing SPECIAL OFFER, marketing your light source / luminaires to UK with ease, please contact us for details.
